Building a movement that challenges stigma, advances inclusion, and celebrates every child.
Our advocacy work brings people together to move, learn, speak out, and stand with children with disabilities and their families. We use physical activity, storytelling, public engagement, and partnerships to spark national dialogue, shift perceptions, and build a culture of empathy and inclusion.
Nakip Fit For Change

Nakip Fit for Change is a community-driven movement that encourages individuals to walk or run sixty kilometers every month to support children with disabilities and their families.
The name Nakip comes from the Swanglish phrase “Na keep”, meaning “I keep fit for change”, reflecting the belief that personal wellness and social impact can go hand in hand.
Participants commit to completing sixty kilometers every month and contributing five hundred Tanzanian shillings per kilometer. This transforms everyday physical activity into meaningful action.
Funds raised through Nakip Fit for Change support:
Mama Mwema, through emotional support, parent education, and economic empowerment
Imara Therapy Center, through therapy services, early intervention, and family support
Nakip Fit for Change promotes physical wellbeing, community engagement, and collective responsibility, proving that small steps, repeated consistently, can change lives and strengthen families
Kilimanjaro Challenge
The Kilimanjaro Challenge is a special, high-visibility expedition held as part of our broader awareness efforts.
A team of climbers, parents, and allies summit Mount Kilimanjaro to raise national attention on disability inclusion and celebrate the resilience of children with disabilities.
The climb symbolizes:
Courage
Determination
Visibility
Collective Action
It draws media attention, mobilizes supporters, and sparks national dialogue reinforcing the same message carried through Nakip Fit for Change, but on a larger, symbolic stage. The Kilimanjaro Challenge is not a monthly activity like Nakip, but a powerful physical and symbolic event within the same movement for inclusion.

Community Outreach and Sensitization

We work with parents, teachers, health workers, religious leaders, and community authorities to improve understanding of disability, reduce stigma, and promote inclusive practices.
Our outreach sessions help communities build empathy, support caregivers, and recognize the rights and dignity of children with disabilities.
Media and Digital Storytelling
Media is a powerful tool for shaping perceptions and influencing social change.
We document and share stories that reflect the realities, strengths, and resilience of families raising children with disabilities.
Our advocacy work has featured on national and international platforms, helping shift narratives and expand public awareness.

Creative Child-Centered Spaces

Initiatives such as Draw Your Dreams create joyful spaces where children express themselves through art, play, and creative exploration.
These activities nurture emotional well being, build confidence, and help children experience inclusion in positive, affirming ways.
We also use children’s artwork as a platform for awareness and advocacy, sharing their creations through exhibitions, digital campaigns, and online art sales.
By showcasing children’s talent, creativity becomes a powerful tool to:
Challenge Stigma
Celebrate individuality
Tell stories
These creative spaces turn children’s voices, art, and imagination into visible contributions to a more inclusive society.
Partnerships and Systems Change
We collaborate with schools, clinics, community organizations, and government stakeholders to strengthen inclusive services, expand access to early intervention, and influence policy.
These partnerships help build sustainable change and ensure children and families are supported within their communities.
