Tee Up for Down Syndrome Awareness is Chadron’s Hope Foundation’s signature event bringing together golfers, artists, families, children, businesses and the wider community to raise awareness about Down syndrome and celebrate inclusion.
Through an 18-hole golf tournament and the Draw Your Dream Art Exhibition, we are creating a day where sport, art and community come together for one important purpose: to build a Tanzania where people with Down syndrome are seen, valued, included and given opportunities to thrive.
About the Event
Tee Up for Down Syndrome Awareness is more than a golf tournament. It is a platform for conversation, visibility and inclusion.
For one day, golfers will take to the course while children, families and artists come together through art and community activities. Throughout the event, we will share stories, create conversations about Down syndrome and invite more people to become part of building an inclusive Tanzania.
Whether you play golf or have never held a golf club, you are welcome to be part of the day.
Why Down Syndrome Awareness Matters
People with Down syndrome have dreams, abilities, talents and the potential to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Yet many families in Tanzania still experience stigma, limited information and barriers to accessing early intervention, therapy, education and opportunities for their children.
Awareness can help change this. When communities understand Down syndrome, we begin to replace misconceptions with knowledge, isolation with belonging, and limitations with opportunities.
Through Tee Up for Down Syndrome Awareness, we want more people to see the person before the diagnosis and recognise the contribution people with Down syndrome can make when they are supported and included.
The Golf Tournament
Golfers will take on 18 holes at Lugalo Golf Club in support of Down syndrome awareness. The tournament brings together golfers from across the community for a day of competition, connection and purpose.
Golfer Registration
TZS 50,000 per golfer
Online golfer registration closes 1 October 2026.
Hole-in-One Challenge
Golfers can also take part in our special Hole-in-One Challenge on selected holes.
Entry: Additional TZS 20,000
Special prizes will be awarded for a successful Hole-in-One.
Draw Your Dream Art Exhibition
Alongside the golf tournament, Chadron’s Hope Foundation will host the Draw Your Dream Art Exhibition, bringing creativity and inclusion to the heart of the event.
Children participating in CHF’s Chora Ndoto Yako – Draw Your Dream initiative will have the opportunity to see their artwork exhibited alongside works from established and emerging artists.
The exhibition is not simply about displaying art. It is about creating a space where children can express themselves, be seen, participate and belong.
The Art Exhibition will be open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Registration is FREE. Artists may submit up to five artworks for consideration.

You don’t have to be a golfer to join us. Tee Up for Down Syndrome Awareness is designed to bring the wider community together. Families and children are welcome to enjoy the art exhibition, children’s activities and the atmosphere of the day while learning more about Down syndrome.

Our goal is not simply to hold a successful event. We want people to leave Lugalo knowing more about Down syndrome, seeing the possibilities rather than the limitations, and understanding that inclusion is something all of us can help create.
