Welcome to Chadron’s Hope Foundation
Breaking Barriers. Building Hope.
Transforming lives through therapy, family empowerment, and disability inclusion
Who We Are
Chadron’s Hope Foundation is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization dedicated to creating better opportunities for people with Down Syndrome and their families.
From early intervention and therapy to family empowerment, awareness and advocacy, we work so that every person with Down Syndrome can be supported, included and given the opportunity to thrive.
Our Vision
A Tanzania where every person with Down syndrome is valued, included, supported, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our Mission
To improve the lives of people with Down syndrome and their families in Tanzania by expanding access to early intervention and therapy, empowering families, promoting inclusion and awareness, and advocating for better opportunities and support throughout their lives.
Our Story
Chadron’s Hope Foundation was born from one child, one mother, and one journey that revealed how much support families raising children with Down Syndrome still need.
When Chadron was born with Down Syndrome in 2024, his family entered a world filled with questions, uncertainty, and very limited access to the information and support they needed. What began as one family searching for answers slowly became a mission to make sure other families would not have to walk the same journey alone.
In 2017 , Chadron’s Hope Foundation was founded to create hope, opportunity, and a stronger support system for people with Down Syndrome and their families in Tanzania.
Today, our work has grown beyond one family. Through early intervention and therapy, family and therapy, family support, economic empowerment for mothers, awareness campaign, advocacy, and access to reliable Down Syndrome information, we are helping families move from isolation and uncertainty toward confidence, inclusion, and opportunity.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief.
Every person with Down Syndrome deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, belong, and live a life of dignity and possibility.
And every family deserves to know that they are not walking this journey alone.
Our Programs

Imara Therapy Center
A secure haven for children with Down syndrome and other neurodevelopmental disabilities to thrive, access essential therapies, and receive the developmental support they need to grow with dignity
Mama Mwema – Coalition of Mothers Raising Champions
Mama Mwema is a mother-led movement that empowers mothers raising children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Through emotional support, family education, and successful economic empowerment groups, we strengthen families and build confident, resilient caregivers who can champion their children’s needs

Awareness & Advocacy
A powerful platform that raises awareness, breaks stigma, and promotes inclusion so that children with disabilities and their families can live in a society that understands, supports, and values them.
WHY OUR WORK MATTERS
Families raising children with developmental disabilities often face stigma, isolation, and limited access to support.
Many mothers walk this journey alone, without information or a community that understands them.
Chadron’s Hope Foundation exists to change this.
We believe every mother deserves support and hope.
We believe every child deserves a chance to thrive.
We believe every community has a role in building inclusion.
Through therapy, mother-led support, and advocacy, we help families move from fear to strength and from isolation to community.
Our Impact
Across Tanzania, families are finding hope, support, and practical help through our programs.
350+ mothers reached through Mama Mwema healing circles and support groups
40+ children supported through therapy and early intervention
10000+ community members sensitized through trainings and awareness sessions
Partnerships established with clinics, schools, and local organizations to promote inclusion
LISTEN TO OUR STORY ON BBC
Our work was featured in the BBC documentary “Don’t Hide My Son”, a powerful audio story that shares the realities, challenges, and hope of families raising children with Down syndrome in Tanzania.
This documentary helped raise awareness globally and strengthened the movement for inclusion
